Anti-Human FGFR1 Recombinant Antibody (FR1-H7)

CAT#: TAB-052WM

Antibody FR1-H7 binds FGFR-1(IIIb) and -1(IIIc) with strong affinities, but does not recognize any of the other FGFRs. Results from kinetic analysis indicated the antibody binds to FGFR-1b and -1c equally well. The KDs of the interactions were determined to be approximately 50 μM for both receptors. This product can be potentially used for antagonizing EGFR-1 or EGFR-4 as a treatment for obesity, diabetes, or a condition related thereto, and methods of reducing food intake.

Q&As

  1. What negative effects might freeze-thaw cycles have on this antibody?

A: Reduced activity and denaturation of antibodies can result from repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Using an alias can help avoid this.

  2. What variables might impact the antibody's performance in my tests?

A: Antibody concentration, incubation period, temperature, and sample quality are among the variables. For optimal effects, maximize each.

  3. In what way should my assay handle non-specific binding?

A: To lessen non-specific interactions, tighten up the wash processes, improve the blocking environment, and further dilute the antibody.
